Accessible AI-Powered Hardware for Material Risk Detection
We are currently developing an AI-driven device for analyzing materials and environmental risks—a practical alternative to costly hyperspectral cameras that are commonly used worldwide for similar purposes.
Our goal is to offer a significantly more affordable solution while still achieving 80–90% accuracy in identifying hazardous materials such as asbestos, toxic coatings, and structural contaminants
How We’ll Achieve This
Instead of relying on complex and expensive optics, our system combines:

A carefully selected camera with optimized optics

A custom-trained AI model based on thousands of labeled images and expert scenarios

User-assisted data, including:
  • Multiple viewing angles
  • Material context (e.g., wall, floor, debris)
  • Basic descriptions or characteristics (e.g., dusty, brittle, moist)

Optionally, affordable auxiliary sensors (VOC, temperature, humidity) to support AI inference
The AI model will guide the user in capturing data properly, requesting additional views or context when needed, thereby boosting recognition accuracy without expensive hardware.
